Today is the first day that dictator Governor Tom Wolf’s order for essential, life sustaining, businesses begin to turn away any customers not wearing a mask under the threat of being fined for staying open to serve people when they could have closed with everyone else. This order is just the latest in a string of dictator like sanctions against the people’s inalienable freedoms that the tyrannt has imposed since the beginning of March all in the name of ‘Public Safety’. His order lacks any real substantiation with hard numbers that the response so far has been warranted, and is evidence that he is in a panic or trying to continue to spread fear and induce panic in the people.
Before, I get into this articles, please let me be clear. It is not the intent of this article, this writer, or the CAAPS Organization, to tell people that they should not be safe, or in any way tell people what choice they should make. If you feel that you need to wear a mask when you go out, then by all means, do so. If you feel you WANT to wear a mask when you go out, then, by all means, buy something fancy and get your fashion on. We are not telling people to not be safe or take precautions. We are pro-choice, and unlike the PA Dictator Wolf…errr…I mean Governor, we have faith in YOU, valued reader, to be smart enough to make the decisions that are right for YOU.
Now, let’s get into it. The purpose of this article is to explain the Order and the problems with it, enlighten you to some facts that make this order nothing more than an empty, worthless, infringement of your rights contrary to the public safety edict claims by the Wolf in the hen house, and to protest these types of orders that infringe on inalienable freedoms. We encourage other like minded businesses and individuals to stand up and say ‘no’, rather than just follow along and make things harder on the people that are trying to help stop the hysteria.
Tom Wolf’s latest order can be read here: Wolf’s Order A lot of this order is the culmination of orders that were handed down piecemeal and continues to get longer weekly as the Wolf adds more restrictions. Setting aside the mandates that every business screen their employees for fevers, and install shields at costs to the consumer ultimately, riddled with the routine that every business needs to wipe everything down following every customer interaction, as well as every item that any customer MAY touch (imagine your huge grocery store as you are reading this), I am specifically referring to part B, item 6, which reads:
B(6): require all customers to wear masks while on premises, and deny entry to individuals not wearing masks, unless the business is providing medication, medical supplies, or food, in which case the business must provide alternative methods of pick-up or delivery of such goods; however, individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition (including children under the age of 2 years per CDC guidance) may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation of such medical condition;
This condition, first and foremost, calls for store owners to police their customers, and refuse service, to anyone not wearing a mask. In other words, the only stores where people can buy life sustaining foods for themselves are now being told to let someone starve if they don’t have a mask on. In the alternative, they could opt to provide shopper services to the people in which someone has to be paid to shop for you at increased cost to the business. I am not sure how other people shop for groceries, but I for one price shop. Sometimes I buy chicken, sometimes pork, and sometimes beef…ice cream when it is under a certain price and only certain brands and flavors. I like to look at my meat to make a decision about which item I purchase, for my own safety reasons. Imagine giving instructions to a personal shopper under those circumstances and how many times that poor shopper will have to run back and forth to get exactly what you are looking for. One shopper (employee) could be tied up with one customer for HOURS just getting the order straight, only then to be refused for the order simply because for my financial security, I will not hand an employee my credit card to pay for it! And, just think of the store owner’s liability if someone is writing down or storing credit card numbers for later purchases. We are in hard times where a lot of people are now unemployed so you can expect financial crimes to increase. And, wasn’t millions of dollars spent on chip technology so people DIDN’T have to hand over their credit cards to a clerk because the banks no longer want to take responsibility for fraudulent charges and the losses incurred?
Next up, the order states that children under 2 do not have to wear a mask (what? kill my children as long as I live? Can it be?) or people that have a medical condition that stops them from wearing a mask with no proof necessary. Okay, well that is great news for someone like me that DOES actually happen to have a condition that I cannot wear a mask, unless they want a huge scene and have to call an ambulance to their store, which could force the store to shut down for 24 hours so they can air it out and disinfect it due to potential contagion carried in from medical workers. Now, that will cost some bucks, especially since on average I have to go to three different grocery stores almost every day (because quantities are limited, stock is short) just to find what I need, and sometimes I leave empty handed. The real problem is that if I am the only person that is not wearing a mask in the store, then it broadcasts to everyone in the store that I have some condition (medical/mental?) that is otherwise private and personal to me, and really nobody else’s business. This does not protect me from the average ‘joe’ with newly bestowed powers to protect mankind from calling the police when spotting me in a store, and causing a scene, even if the store manager does not question me. According to this article, the fact that I do not have to provide proof that I have a medical condition but may enter a store without a mask because of such, really negates the store managers decision about whether to let me enter the store in the first place. This means that if stopped, as long I say ‘medical condition, can’t wear one’, and give up my privacy (Where is HIPPA, now?) then there is no real way to enforce this order, which renders it illegal under the terms of legal procedure. If a law is unenforceable it cannot, administered or prosecuted, unless someone not knowing this just voluntarily abides by it and gives up those rights voluntarily.
Now, let’s get into the facts and statistics that make this order unjustified and thus not a public safety measure, but just a dictated order that is ignorant of your own intelligence to decide what is right for you.
This disease has a roughly 97% recovery rate (the thing no media journalists or certain politicians will talk about). Certainly to spare 2% of the people that contract it, not even the whole population of people, this does not warrant the measures that have been taken. According to the CDC and WHO, the virus has a contagion rate of only 1-5% for people that have direct contact with it, UNLESS, you are enclosed with an individual for a prolonged period of time (emphasis added), then the contagion rate increases to 78-85% chance of contraction. Hmmmm…so, you have a 95-99% chance of not getting it even when coming in direct contact with it? So, how is it spreading? Well, I am no doctor, I just read the scientists numbers and look at the surrounding circumstances, and make an analytical, critical conclusions based on facts AND what I see…and it does seem to me that based on the fact that places like S. Korea and Sweden, and several states in the U.S. did NOT shut down or more directly issue stay at home orders and do not have the same rate of spread as those that did, I would say that the STAY AT HOME ORDERS are actually responsible for the exponential increases in spread. Think about it, when people are out doing their thing, how long are they actually at home with family, but with stay at home orders, people are FORCED to be home together. And, by the way, Governor Wolf is NOT practicing social distancing. He is not staying at home, but instead staying with his daughter and other family members just outside of Philadelphia. He thinks he is above the law, like most dictators.
The CDC and WHO both state that there is only one mask that will stop the spread of the virus. It is the N95 respirators that stop the spread completely. Initially, both the CDC and the WHO stated on their websites that face cloth masks and homemade masks including bandanas did nothing to curtail the spread of the virus and that it was only certain masks, if worn properly, that would prevent it. They further state, that those masks should NOT be bought and worn by average citizens because they are greatly needed by our health care workers on the front lines. The WHO still is standing behind those recommendations, however the US based CDC, since some governors have started making orders to wear masks without providing them, has now changed its position and is recommending people wear homemade cloth masks that they KNOW will not make a difference in deterring the spread of the disease. AMAZING!
Finally, just a quick note about the airborne aspects of this virus. It has been stated that it can last in the air for up to three hours, and on surfaces for days. If I have someone standing in front of me in line, 6 ft away, I am not waiting three hours to move into that person’s airspace, and no mask is going to stop me from contacting that diseases, so I am not advocating hug everyone you see, or even that you should not practice social distancing if you feel like you need to, but I am calling bullshit.
What can we do about these unlawful orders? Stand up, say no. If you are a business person that owns a grocery store, make your stand by closing down. Tell these tyrant governer’s like Wolf that if they want to run your business, then they can come and spend their money and manpower running the business, but if they expect you to do so, then they need to let you do it, YOUR WAY. If you are not doing it right, the people will decide whether they want to shop there. I guarantee that if every supermarket and store still open threatened to shut down, and then did…our states would open back up real fast, but I think these governors would back off long before letting businesses shut down. You know how to run your business and this is the United States of America where businesses are not owned by the government; as such, they should certainly not have a say in how you run yours. Recommendations are fine, but you have the intelligence to choose what is right for your business, you don’t need to be threatened into spending more money to operate and cede control of the enterprise you built to some government entity.
If you are an individual, exercise your right to say no. Don’t wear a mask. If questioned, say you have a health problem. If you are asked to leave a store because you do not have a mask on, don’t resist, just leave, and then refuse to ever shop in that business again, and stick to it. If you have no choice, only ever buy essentials and nothing extra, so they lose income and eventually close. There will be other stores opening to take up the slack…this is a fee market society. If you are confronted by the police, record the confrontation…record, record, record….and do NOT antagonize it. If they ask you to leave, then do so, do not get a trespass ticket because every business owner has the right to ask you to leave for any reason, and there may be no defense to trespassing (though they would have to prove any disorderly person claim and not wearing a mask does not fit the legal definition of disorderly person…its the trespass you can’t get around). Once you have a ticket for trespassing on a property, though, thre is also a stay away order issued, and that is the last thing any business owner wants unless you are caught stealing. Also, get the name and number of the officer and the manager that called the police so you can file suit later for denying life sustaining essentials where those supplies are limited. Keep details, location, time, date, who, what was said.
Lastly, share those videos publicly, and do contact organizations like ours, and other legal representatives when this issue is over and things are back to normal. File your lawsuit. There are several class action suits that we have in mind that may pertain to you, (business owners and individuals alike) in which we are currently in the information gathering stage.
