What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Information you submit to us through our contact forms may be stored in MailChimp’s servers and our own servers. We do not share this information with any other source and we will NEVER sell your contact information. Your contact information is used by us internally to contact you as needed.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information
Your contact information is NEVER sold, or shared with marketing firms or third party vendors. It is retained by us for the purpose of contacting you to keep you informed of issue that may be important to you. We do not have any access to your credit card information when you make donations to us and therefore your credit card information is not stored by us. Our credit card donation transaction are performed through Strip and PayPal and both services use encryption to protect your data. That data is never transferred to us. When you mail in donations through snail mail, we do not record banking information. Our bank track’s your check, and we do not retain anything other than who made the donation (Name and Address) and method of payment, and which program the funds are allocated to if it was a fund specific donation. We do not disclose to the victims that may receive benefit from those funds any of your information, unless you have expressly given authorization for us to do so, and in such a case, it would only be Name recognition and would not include, address, phone number, or email information. We have very strict policies in place to keep your information as a donor confidential.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not do any automated decision making or profiling. If we do anything through Facebook analytics, it is primarily demographic profiling for targeting audiences that may have an interest in our services, but that is strictly done through facebook analytics and not our website.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
For large money donors, the IRS does require us to report any donation over a certain amount in our end of year reporting. The IRS may make some of those reports of our filings available to the public,
